Ammi Majus
An interesting day ….
An early phone call informs me my hygienist appointment has been cancelled - it’s not something I enjoy, but my teeth always feel so much better afterwards, so I’m disappointed. Then there’s another blood test in the afternoon, and repeat visits to the surgery to try to sort the last pieces of the holiday supplies jigsaw. Why is this never simple?
Then we have a phone call from Daniel; Solveig is having pains which may be Braxton Hicks but feel more like early labour. They’re monitoring the situation and just want to give us notice that we might be needed! At 10 pm the pains have not abated, so we gather overnight necessities together, ready to move if needed. In Meols they decide they’d like us to come over, so we do. Daniel briefs us on the pre-nursery routine, and we head to bed, wondering what the night will bring.
Wednesday update
Well, the update is …….. by 1.00am the pains stopped! This morning Solveig’s so apologetic - unnecessarily so as I assure her. Lili goes off to nursery , Solveig to work - yes, she’s STILL working - and we go home! Crisis averted.
Today’s blip features my Ammi Majus or Bishop’s Flower - a more delicate form of cow parsley. I’ve grown this for the last five years and this is by far the best showing. It’s another triptych - not that I’m obsessed, it’s just I couldn’t decide which shot to use!
