A book to hold them...
I have been pondering about how I might put the 61 cards I made for the ICAD Art Challenge into a book. A regular small photo book with inserts wouldn't work... The notes & journaling on the back of the index card would not be visible. Being able to see both sides was important to me.
I started with clear bags the same size as an index cards. The cards fit in nicely and you could see both sides. Check!
I really didn't know how I was going to create a book for the cards, but I knew from making handmade books that "signatures" or groups of pages are a good choice. I had rolodex cards and wondered if I could attach the index cards to them, to make pages? Yes, it worked!
This book I made is a little strange looking and a bit unusual, but it's the perfect solution for my project. I wanted to be able to flip the cards like a book and see both the art and the words. There are a couple extra photos to help you see how it's constructed. Definitely an original!
