Bus Pass Walk

Much cooler today, but still warm enough to wear short sleeves. 3 of us caught 2 buses to Saltaire and walked down to Hirst Lock. The hill down is quite steep and it really pushed on my knees in spite of using my walking poles - more painful than I have known it before. Refreshments at the Higher Ground and then a walk along the canal towpath back to Bingley. Knee not too bad on the flat, but the slightest downhill section was really painful - not show why it should suddenly be so bad - seems to be different every day! Luckily I got a call from Physiotherapy yesterday and they have made me an appointment for next week - hopefully it may help. Photo is of the view from the old bridge looking towardsDowley Gap Locks. Other direction in extras. With little movement from boats on the canal there is a lot of weed, scum and reeds etc building up. One barge looked to be completely enclosed by reeds! Lunch at The Loft then home - just one bus on the return journey.
