Borderline crisps
A recent visit by one of the family to Ireland resulted in some Tayto crisps being brought back. The pack on the right.
The pack on the left comes from Northern Ireland.
Each states they are potato crisps cheese and onion flavour. The contents are almost but not 100% identical.
The ones on the right have a fraction more energy. The ones on the left have more fat but fewer sugars, protein and fibre. They each have the same levels of salt. The ones on the left have monosodium glutamate: on the right they don’t contain added MSG but do contain rosemary extract.
Fascinating the tiny differences and different marketing needed for different markets.
