A Patron Saint of missionaries. Patron of the Order of Our Lady of Charity, a refuge for prostitutes who wished to change their way of life. He started The Eudists, with the aim of providing education to priests and providing missions.


We noticed a significant cooling down of the weather here in Rishton Blackburn today. It was 13c this morning and so much easier to breathe and work.

There is a strange light rain, more like spitting in the figurative sense. It is overcast.

Many skeins of Canada Geese have been flying in our neighbourhood and it is delightful to watch them as they flock together calling with their recognisable sound. There was a magpie making a point about something on a nearby tree. Hunter napped in the garden close to the fern.

Paul is making a new climbing frame for our cats. Holly will be very happy as she likes to sleep on the flat platform and look out at the garden.

I ordered some extra colour changing garden solar lights and they were delivered this afternoon. They are lovely when they light up in the evening.

I have enjoyed doing some gardening, mostly re potting herbs, watering plants that looked parched and weeding. The Lemon Balm is doing very well and the Apple Mint has tiny white flowers.

Now to read some short stories from the People's Friend and bake a potato for the evening meal.
