Loch Leven and the Pap of Glencoe
Glorious sunshine all day. Drove to Glencoe for lunch at Crafts and Things, one of our favourite haunts. Short walk later at Glencoe Lochan, a loch made by Lord Strathcona in the late 19th century for his wife who came from Canada. He planted a forest too, to help her feel at home. As husbands do….. at least those with lots of money and land.
Drove round Loch Leven instead of across the bridge. This picture was taken from the top end looking towards the Pap of Glencoe, in the centre of the image. The Gaelic name is Sgorr na Ciche, the peak of the breast. I heard how to pronounce it, but not a chance with my English accent.
Tea on the way home at the friendly Creagan Inn, strawberries and cream scone overlooking Loch Creran. Perfect end to a lovely day.
