It Poured Last Night!

It rained so hard that it woke me up! So unusual for August. It was murky and humid this morning, another odd thing in western Oregon. But eventually the sun came out. The plants are super happy with the good soaking, and so am I.

I bought this pot of chrysanthemums the other day - what a color!

The extra is a bit macabre - I saw all sorts of little flies on the carnivorous plants this afternoon and thought I might catch something interesting. What I found was a desiccated wasp (I think) in a Venus Fly Trap. Fair warning! (See extra.)

I completely forgot to post last night's blip. My shoulder, which has been through a lot over the years - hiking accident that tore three tendons, two surgical repairs, more full-thickness tears with a warning that the next time I'd be looking at a shoulder replacement....well, that day has come. It's been bothering me for some time and I finally went to the orthopedist. I'll be having a reverse shoulder replacement this fall. UGH!!! So I've posted a photo for yesterday just to catch up :-)
