Lantana

Last night's book club was fun - we set up at a table in the pool area of our HOA. There were only four of us, with mostly desserts! Then, out of the blue, it started to rain! We were under an umbrella so it was kind of fun. We got a bit wet but all in all we had a grand time. We rated the book a "2" out of "10"...but it's always good to read something really different. The book was "The Dog Stars" by Peter Heller.

This morning last night's rain had transformed all of the plants outside. This lantana on my deck being no exception. This really is it's color - I didn't fiddle with it :-) Terrific flower for sunny, dry locations. It's flourishing!

I had a lovely visit with a friend later this afternoon, and we drank mint iced tea and sampled an Olive Oil Strawberry cake that I pulled together this afternoon, with local strawberries. It was really good!
