Back To Beamish

It is a little while since I have visited Beamish as our passes had run out.  Today was the day to renew them.  It felt good to be back and the museum was very busy.  It was good to see as it really suffered during Covid.  I think a lot of volunteers left and didn't come back but now things are thriving again.

My main Blip is a photo from the Weardale farmhouse which was brought brick by brick to Beamish and rebuilt.  For some reason I just love the shelves and the sense of order.  For parts of the year the farm  would probably have been cut off so they would need to store food for the colder months.  I have attached an article about how the farm was rebuilt.  I have also attached a few extras:

1)  A view of the fairground
2)  Lady in the doorway of the sweetshop
3)  The dolls hospital
4)  Childs sewing machine - I received this exact sewing machine on Christmas when I was about 7 or 8.  I don't think I made anything useful on it but I did like it.

Wishing you a good weekend.
