Day 14 - Independence Hall, Philadelphia
We took a morning train into Philadelphia to see the sights of the city. This photo is of Independence Hall, which is probably one of the most important buildings in the history of the United States of America, due to the fact that it was inside this building that congress voted for independence from Great Britain (putting them at war) and signed the Declaration of Independence on 2nd July 1776 (contrary to what most people think - 4th July was when the document was approved). It also housed the Liberty Bell for many years, which now sits in a specially built museum just outside due to it's famous large crack up the middle! We took a tour inside led by a National Park Ranger and saw the room that the declaration was signed in.
