Something On The Window
I actually managed to sleep in my bed last night ..... all night!
The first one since my ribs went 'snap'.
Things might be looking up.
At breakfast I saw 4 snails on the pergola so went out with the camera, looked straight up and took a shot.
As I turned round to head back in there was a bumbler partaking some breakfast. So I grabbed 3 shots (following the snails).
When I went to step back inside I saw 'something' on the patio door. At first I thought it was some flying thing. Having taken the shot as close as I could get with the macro I changed my mind to it being some kind of tiny seed ...... I think.
SWMBO had her appointment at the hospital and as we left to head home I got a phone call from the fitter -- he could be with us in under an hour!
Excellent.
After flagging him down on his 2nd pass (why can nobody find out house? The houses run in numerical order not odds/evens and we have the number in 2 places...wall and door) he came in and the first thing he did was held the missing door up to the space .... and found it was too big!.
Not a big job - it just needs to go back to the workshop to be cut and have a new edge trim fitted.
In the meantime he fitted the (resized) metal handle on the storage cupboard that we thought was going to have to have a wooden knob - so it fits in wonderfully now. He also replaced the chipped fridge door and moved the handles on the fridge and freezer so that they are much easier to open (the suction had meant that you needed 2 hands and nearly a foot to open them).
He promised that he would be back on Monday.
After lunch we did a pick-up/drop off for The Larder and carried on to get fuel (and a new printer) from Straiton.
We turned onto the City Bypass - and promptly hit virtually stationary traffic. The road is just not fit for purpose these days with increased traffic flow and the fact that the Council has forced anyone wanting to traverse Edinburgh to use it.
On the way home I took a different route to avoid the traffic. I mistakenly believed that the new traffic lights near the ski-slope put up to alleviate the problems of an awkward 3 way junction were doing their job.
20 minutes to go 500 yards!
Fecken Cooncil!
3 1/2 hours to go less than 35 miles.
