Vincent's bedroom in Arles
In Tampere Hall there has been immersive exhibition this summer called Van Gogh Alive: a multisensory art experience. It will close next Sunday, so it was finally time to go there with Emma. It was great dive into Vincent van Gogh’s (1853–1890) colourful world. It addtition to paintings projected on walls, ceilings and walls, we saw Van Gogh’s sources of inspiration and life through photographs and videos displayed alongside the artworks. Classical music and scents were present too.
There was also built a copy of Vincent van Gogh's bedroom based on his painting. It's one of Van Gogh's most popular painting and it was one his own personal favorites. In fact, he produced three painted versions of his bedroom in Arles. The first version of it was painted while living there, and two later versions were made while at the asylum in Saint-Rémy.
It was great experience and we were glad we went to see the exhibition. Then we had a late lunch in the 4 Vuodenaikaa and finally we ate ice cream at the Laukontori. It was fun to observe young people who were heading to Blokfest festival. It was obvious what was the most popular look for girls: knee high black boots, very short skirt and tight sposrts team top.
