The Wee Cumbrae
I took a walk up the hill behind the house tonight to find spectacular views from East to West.
Arran and the Isle of Bute to my right and beyond the Marine Station to the left. Ahead was this view.
This is the Wee Cumbrae. It has a castle and a keep and I think it has some cottages. I hope to visit it when the bracken is down in October or November. You have to get there by boat, although it seems like a stones throw from West Bay.
You see the Parish Church (where I will venture tomorrow morning) and the houses at the Golf Club. In the background you see a very flat part of Arran.
I took the 9am ferry over and visited the parental for the day. It was a beautiful day and we sat outside at the yacht club for a wee while til they got cold. It is such an astonishingly beautiful part of the world in the sun.
Mum and I took a wee wander round the shops in Gourock and I got some lovely sock yarn for my next weaving project.
I got the 7pm ferry back and ambled slowly over the top back to Millport.
A wonderfully relaxing and day of complete appreciation...this has certainly been one of my better moves!
