twinned with trumpton

A morning out; listening to folks try to cover their tracks. I get that everyone has to tighten their belts, but by deception all that you're doing is fucking everyone else over and expecting them to pick up the slack you've created by your action. It's selfishness to the nth degree. So finding a couple of people today who when challenged still persisted until such time as I'd given them enough rope and they did the necessary for me.

The afternoon was spent trying to record all this for posterity. And there's still another one that I'm still paying out rope to that will similarly succumb.

Whilst out on my travels I called into the Gull's Grocery on Ferry Road. Someone I follow on IG had said they'd encountered cheese that was 'life changing' so in I went. A tenner later, I was out the door. Mindful of the Longrow Red that was lifechanging (MrSmith / IainatCreel) I had high hopes for the cheese. I was not disappointed; and nor was She. But ooft - not cheap.

And Her lass's driving adventures continue. After She'd gone to chum her home; I had the dubious honour of riding shotgun / de facto satnav duties as the lass went back to the boyfriend's at the end of the day. Fair play; despite being a year and a half since she passed her test, the lass can drive.

I made it in to see Hibs sneak over the line. Tom was relieved. He'd phoned me on the way up to Easter Road and said he'd fired the gun and bought £20 plane tickets to Wroclaw in the hope that
(a) HIbs could hold onto a 2-0 first leg lead and
(b) AEK Larnaca couldn't go away from home and overturn a 4-1 deficit.

25 minute in and HIbs were losing 1-0 on the night; and Larnaca had already scored twice!!!!
But eventually Legia Warsaw pulled one back and held on to squeeze home.

Hibs however went on an even more tortuous route, going 2-0 down before Starman Bowie produced the goal of a lifetime and Partisan Belgrade were reduced to 10 men. Surely that was that...? But now. 95 minutes in the clock and Partisan equalised!!!

Extra time. Hibs did then score, but in the dying minutes, Partisan managed to hit the post!!!

But eventually the gamble paid off. Hibs went through; Tom is off on his first European adventure in a week or two.....phew!

An early evening dog walk to try and snaffle some sun / shadow / reflection action down Q Mile way
