Munich

Today we had breakfast in Switzerland, coffees in Lichtenstein, lunch in Austria and we are about to eat dinner in Germany!

It was an easy drive from Switzerland to Munich, we stopped off twice, firstly in Vaduz (Lichtenstein) for coffees and then had lunch on Lake Constance at Bregenz in Austria. The latter was a big disappointment, I imagined a small and charming place on the pretty lake but it's a large and busy city, we struggled to get parking, the lunch was very mediocre and I have forgotten how much people smoke here so when eating outdoors you have cigarette smoke wafting over your table, ugh!

Tommy live in Schwabing in Munich so we wanted to stay in a hotel near him rather than in downtown Munich. The hotel is lovely but it is extremely hot today, about 32C, with not a breath of wind and the hotel is not air conditioned! Welcome to Germany! They have given us 'coolers' for our rooms, which are portable air conditioning units. It was really too hot to do anything but we all wandered down to the English Garden which is nearby so that Xena could have a walk.

We are now about to go out to dinner at a Thai restaurant over the road from the hotel. We are in an area with many good restaurants and it's a very pleasant area. Tommy has been at work all day but will join us for dinner. (Note dinner at Thai restaurant Mun Mun)

Another scorching hot day tomorrow but Tommy plans to take us swimming in the river! It is a public holiday tomorrow so it will be busy, yet all the shops will be shut due to the public holiday.
