Dolly's Day

Leisure and Primary Care Centre

Yesterdays mystery object proved easy to guess.  It was a battery operated milk frother.

Another poor nights sleep.  Fitbit tells me that I slept for 2hrs 43 mins.  I was in bed longer than that obviously but I mustn't have been properly asleep. I have felt tired today so I hope I have more sleep tonight.

Had my usual weekly appointment at the Primary Care Centre in Blaydon to get my leg ulcer seen to.  Last week when I saw the nurse I asked her if she could moisturise my leg before putting a new bandage on as the skin was very dry.  She wasn't able to do that but she said she would get my GP to prescribe some Hydromol cream and I could moisturise it myself.  I collected the cream last Friday.  So this morning --- as advised by the nurse - I removed the bandages and dressing and washed my leg with plain water and then moisturised it.  Then I put a fresh dressing on.

Caught a bus to Swalwell and then another bus to the Care Centre.  Took my blip shot before going inside.  The Wide Wednesday theme is  a local scene. Thanks to BobsBlips for hosting.

Saw another different nurse ( Ive lost count of the number of different nurses Ive seen ).  She had read my notes so she knew I had taken the bandages off myself at  home.  My leg has been really sore all week so she took another swab in case the ulcer is infected again. Even though the ulcer is small its very painful and the surrounding skin is now beginning to get sore.  She put some honey cream on this week, then a dressing and then the compression bandages.  She said that I should maybe come in twice a week and suggested an appointment on Saturday or Sunday ( I already have my usual weekly appointment booked in for next  Tuesday ).  I said I would rather not come at the weekend.  I have so many appointments on the calendar at the moment I need a couple of free days.  Hopefully the leg is a bit better next Tuesday and I won't need to go twice a week.

Next I went to visit Neil, Rachael, Ellis and Luna.  I had a lovely time.  I fed Ellis and then rocked him to sleep in his pram.  Later on I fed him again.  Lots of Grandma cuddles too.  I had bought Ellis a Newcastle United top and shorts and Neil couldn't wait to put them on him.  I imagined that Ellis would already have some Newcastle United clothing but he didn't so I was pleased to be the one who got him his first little NUFC outfit.  Ive added a couple of Extras.

When it was time to go Neil walked with me to the bus stop. We didn't take Luna as it was too hot.  I got a bus to the Metrocentre and then a few mins later another bus home.

Weather was even hotter today and very muggy. The bus driver on my journey home kept stopping the bus and getting out for a while saying he was too hot.
