Sally Mair - Loving life

By Sallymair

Tuesday

Today was hot!
I headed off across town to meet up with my reunion group at Meggetland. For once we'd been organised and reserved a booth in the cafe but when we got there it was so hot we decided to sit outside instead. It was good for all four of us to catch up it doesn't happen very often. Greetings were sent from Marilyn in particular to Blippers Blethers and Frkenny.
I headed back across town dodging road closures, not just for the Festival and the Oasis concert, but because in their wisdom, the powers that be thought this would be a good day to resurface Ravelston Dykes, so it was closed. It's usually one of the diversion routes when things are on at Murrayfield, so hopefully it was reopening later.
I spent the afternoon in the Charity shop as usual and today an old friend turned up as in my blip.
As you can see in the extra, I've met this teapot, or one very similar, before, when on the Hendricks Gin cucumber bus during the festival. It was almost 10 years ago to the day on 11th August 2016, after a recommendation from blipper Nadinepierce. I seem to remember blipping it at the time, if I did it was likely with this pic of Ali which I've put as an extra. I seem to remember lots of people asking me at the time how to join the Hendricks bus tour of the ancient cucumber fields of Edinburgh, which was either free or very inexpensive. I've only just stopped using the credit card holder to keep my bus pass in, It lasted well.
We had a Vestry meeting this evening, the last I'll have to chair, once we have our Rector in place it will be her job. We're getting there, my list of tasks is getting smaller.
