back-blip
Papa arrived to help us up to Scotland tomorrow. We walked up to the station to pick up our tickets, to Waitrose to get lunch bits then home for lunch. Amelie learnt the valuable lesson that flip flops free with a magazine are most likely going to hurt your feet and are not advisable for long distances (and that mummy knows best, but not sure she's going to remember that one)
After lunch we walked to the pub with the park and Amelie had a play while we had a drink. She was playing well on her own then some other girls came along....the girls were sisters. One was 5 and one was 3. Amelie was much bigger than the 3 year old! She wasn't quite sure what to do with herself, bless her. They ended up playing together but I think she was far more into the friendship thZn they were. I got the impression that they were often dragged to the pub park and left to make friends. As harsh as it sounds, she said she would miss them and if they had heard her they wouldn't have given two hoots. My poor little sausage has some life skills to learn. Or maybe just proper friends to make. Such a hard thing to do, 3 year olds are awkward social creatures. Anyway I was proud of her for trying so hard, I probably would have walked back to the table with my parents! Not that I'm antisocial....
