Life's Little Moments

Giants in the Garden

I have been seeing more Giant Swallowtails in the garden in the last few weeks and was hoping to get a shot like this, with wings spread.  They are very fluttery butterflies, rarely staying still at the flowers and so it is uncommon to see the wings like this.  It lasted about 10 seconds, though, which was plenty of time to get a few shots.  Latin name Papilio cresphontes, the Giant Swallowtail is our area's largest butterfly.

I spent some time on the phone with Bestie Peg this afternoon.  Today marks one year since her beloved husband died, suddenly and tragically.  I am not sure how you "get over" something like this - maybe it is more that you learn how to live with it.  I'm happy that Peg and my other besties will be together this weekend - seems fitting.

Jax is doing fine and taking his antibiotics as if they were treats.  Hot today so we are limiting our time outdoors.

Hubs and I have been watching The Bear on Disney and really enjoying it.  It is chaotic and at times uncomfortable to watch, but the acting is brilliant and the development of the characters is absolutely wonderful.

cheers
Debbi
