Solace Day 7 - Trachemys scripta scripta

The ridiculoss situation with a title box that you can't use all the space on means I had to micc out the english name.  It would seem this is a Yellow Bellied Slider.

We come back to the marina the day before we have to leave as the toilets need pumped out, the water tank filled etc.  For the pump-out we have to take the boat down to the service berth in front of the main building.  With a dozen or so share boats all needing attended to before handing over if you leave it later there is a queue.

Having got on with the jobs we awarded our selves a break down at the reserve.  Clickychick got into a conversation with an elderly couple (OK a couple even older than we are).  They were saying they had been recommenced to come by friends and to look out for the Terrapin (turtle to our transatlantic cousins).  We were able to point it out to them sun bathing on on a stump in the pond.  They hadn't spotted it as they were imagining something the size of those you used to see on sale in pet shops i.e. maybe three inches across.
