Molting wet mess

Mr Cardinal is not only molting but also a wet mess due to the rain.

We were forecast to have strong thunderstorms throughout the day but instead we had a mainly dry morning and then a nice soft rain for the afternoon. A great rain for the garden.

I spent the morning on the porch with MiniMe and enjoyed listening to the new neighbours playing in their backyard.

The boys were kicking their soccer ball about and it ended up in our backyard a few times. The first time they were real timid about coming to retrieve it but it explained to them (and their mother) that I had no issues with them being in our yard and they were welcome to use part of our yard for their soccer playing.

I did explain to them that August & September are baby Copperhead months and so they should avoid the back corner of our yard were snakes can sometimes be found.
