Modern Life Is Rubbish

Another day spent in front of the computer or on various mobile devices, trying to update our email addresses linked to various websites and/or apps.
But they don’t make it easy. Some - luckily - just need you to login and then save the update. Others insist on verification codes or emails. A few need you to email customer services to make the change. And an annoying number won’t just update details. You have to delete the existing account and then set up a whole new one. What a faff!
Almost makes me yearn for the good old days. When you only had to advise people if you actually moved house. And that could be done by sending pre-printed postcards with the new address and telephone number on it. Fine tuning might have been required when Christmas cards arrived from someone you’d forgotten (sometimes deliberately!) to advise of the change.
And that was it. Seems a lot simpler than nowadays where any interaction with a third party needs you register all sorts of details. That you then can’t change without a lot of hassle…
