Life's Little Moments

Fancy Pants

It was after 5 today when I realized I had not taken a single photo.  Out to the garden we went to see what we could find.  And as always, my garden provided loads of things to photograph including many monarch caterpillars and butterflies and this charming American Redstart warbler who was busy chasing everything in the yard, even things much bigger than itself.  It has always been my observation that redstarts are very aggressive in the fall and frequently go after finches, woodpeckers, chickadees and even cardinals occasionally.  Feisty little things.  Anyway, this was a fun shot.

I had a great FT chat with my parents this morning.  They are in the full throws of preparing to move east.  I can hardly believe that they will be here in about a month, give or take a few days.  So very happy and excited.

Hubs and I drove over to the fairgrounds and picked up the two photos that I had entered in the competition, including the one that won two ribbons (yes, I'm bragging - I'm totally chuffed in fact.). Back at home, I settled in to work on my many photos from that last few days.  I already have the first cut done and have gotten to total number down to around 1200.  I will do the second cut tomorrow and hopefully get the total number down to around 500 total for the 2 days.  We'll see.  I enjoy the editing process so it isn't a chore.

Pasta with fresh farm tomatoes, goat cheese, herbs, garlic and olive oil served over pasta for dinner tonight - easy and delicious,.
