Flim Flam
Today, we went on the Flam railway to Valtnahalsen and it’s billed as one of the world’s most beautiful train journeys, and we can see why.
The journey was amazing, through spectacular scenery teeming with waterfalls and it just confirmed our view that Norway is the prettiest country, we have ever seen.
We stopped at the Valtnahalsen Hotel (previously a sanatorium, with definite ‘The Shining’ vibes), for waffles and coffee, which were lovely.
Additionally, it turns out that we are not the only people from our estate to be on this cruise, as Gaynor and Warren from a neighbouring street came up to us and said’ we recognise you from Musselburgh’?
It was lovely to chum our neighbours on the excursion.
Now, back at the ship and looking forward to dinner later at Lupinos, the Italian restaurant on board.
Off to Bergen tomorrow…. It’s bound to rain. If so, I can dust down by Bergen joke again (first referenced on blip a few years ago when we were previously in Bergen and it was raining stair rods!
Hope you have enjoyed today.
