An Oasis of little calm
The cousin is in town, so after a morning of doing not a lot, apart from cooking an enormous unhealthy breakfast (for one), we went up town to meet them. Teuchters is usually a reliable houff for decent beer (F is a bit of a beer fiend) but blimey, I’d forgotten that Oasis were playing along the road. Groups of young lads milled about, all with bucket hats – and all too young to be there first time around. The equivalents of those wee lassies at Taylor Swift gigs with their hats and cowboy boots. Ah, I must be getting old. Anyway, before long they began to clear off and we got inside to get a seat, where we could just about make ourselves heard above the din. Definitely getting old.
Anyway, lovely to see them. I decide we must go and visit them. We must!
Onward – the opening of the Sculpture Workshop festival thing. Their ambitions seem to have been pulled in a bit from previous events. Probably because they don’t have much money, obvs. Though they were still handing out free tinnies of Vitamin T which I finished walking to the bus stop. All I needed was a bucket hat.
