The Lost Tree

Another of the artworks in the Eden Arts’ outdoor CANOPY project. I blipped the Woollen Woods here and here, the butterflies here and the signposts here. This piece was created for a solitary Ash tree in the grounds of Brough Castle and is meant to be a memorial to all that is lost.

People have been invited to contribute by giving details of something or someone they have lost and hanging the label on the tree. It is significant that the Ash Tree itself may one day be lost, if it succumbs to the deadly Ash dieback fungus.

It was quite difficult to see most of the labels, as some had been put high up and it was also windy, but there did seem to be a huge range of ideas. Some of them were obviously quite poignant, especially when it came to lost people. I chose this one, as it amused me.

So, what would you put on the tree?
