Goodnight Moon
Tonight . . .
We went to feed the ducks and check on the babies at the Canal in downtown Oklahoma City.
We parked where we had seen them bed for the evening on the banks of the Canal last Friday night
This is what we saw as we approached the canal where the sculptures of the Oklahoma Land Rush of 1889 are being erected. It's an awesome depiction of that day in 1889. This link is to an article from 1889 filed by a reporter who witnessed the Land Rush first hand.
We found the babies and there mom and dad, and they had already turned in for the night, Goodnight Moon, in some monkey grass further down on the canal. Momma was right above them and Daddy was a little ways behind them, protecting them.
An amazing and beautiful sight to see, mother nature at work, and the family resemblance between all creatures, great and small.
