The Bite
Another really fun day with the Blitzhund group. I came home with a little over 2700 images which is just ridiculous but at least I know I will have some keepers. I kind of love this shot because it shows the bite part of protection with the dog fully in the air. The decoy (Vincent) took hit after hit all day long and never wavered. He provided lots of feedback and training for the handlers and it was just a pleasure watching him work. And also makes me wonder when you wake up one morning and think "I want to have large dogs bite me just for fun". But the men (and women) who do this surely do it for the love of the sport. Anyway, as tired as I feel tonight, I have to think he is even more tired.
I am still finding it quite challenging to shoot black dogs in mid-day sun, but I guess I am finding some tricks that work, more or less. I would, of course, much prefer a thin, even overcast but here we are.
I decided not to go back tomorrow as I have taken roughly 5000 pics in the last two days which will give them lots of images to download as they wish, and gave me the time I wanted to figure out the best settings for the conditions. I am really looking forward to the Trials next month.
