A Meandering Life...

Matilda goes to Kettlewell

What a fantastic day we had. This morning 5 Morris Minors set off from camp and headed towards the Yorkshire Dales. I lead them along the B roads to Middleham and then up into Coverdale.

Middleham has a number of major horse racing stables and we passed a number of thoroughbreds coming into the village from the gallops.
Coverdale is one of the lesser known Dales being south of Wensleydale and north of Wharfedale. This often single track road leads into Kettlewell. In extras you’ll see a photo of Matilda passing cows on the road taken by a friend following.

My main Blip is of the 5 cars in the field at Kettlewell. I have added an extra of the cars in the old petrol station in the village. The scarecrow festival was on and the village was very busy. In my collage extra I have added just one of the characters around and about, Mary Poppins. Other characters included Ken Dodd, Jeremy Clarkson and Elton John.

We returned via Grassington, Pateley Bridge and Ripon where we stopped at a charity tractor event and saw Peter Wright, from the Yorkshire Vet TV series. Again see extras.

This evening we had a lovely meal at a local restaurant before a late night natter under the stars. Tomorrow we may head East.
