Walking the Walk

Tour Ends

Our touring of coffee shops and breakfast bars on Saturdays is over for now. The Bothy, a superb wee restaurant is open again on Saturday mornings and they serve the best bacon rolls in The Shire.

The Bothy stands in the Auchincruive Estate, and is the cafe/eatery of the therapeutic community which works wonders there. Lots goes on, and members of the community work either in the Bothy, or one of the gardening/growing projects, in carpentry, or tree surgery among other skills. At the end of three years, the men and women leave with a skill, a job, often a qualification and hopefully a stable life.

Our going there supports the community which is very close to our hearts. The blip today is a Bonnie wee pot sitting in the outside area, cheering up the concrete slabs and a rather worn wall.
