Unwynding

St Olaf’s Wynd, Kirkwall.  Previously unblipped – and you can see why.  A quasi day out.  I dropped the Current Mrs Creel at the Bignold Park, for this was the day of Orkney’s big day out – The County Show.  CMC was helping to support the Orkney Traditional Music Project stall during the morning.  Plenty of bemused tourists were in the Toon wondering why it was so quiet.  I bought a newspaper (not the Dufftown Bugle) a bottle of milk and chatted to Norman, then Bunty.  I noticed Stuart in Main Street and hailed him, as one does with a cab.  He invited me in for coffee and he got the scales out and measured us out some light banter.  I rendezvoused with CMC in Palace Road, drove past the queues of folk waiting at the show turnstiles and we headed towards the Southern Parish (!) and we had a snack just before the fourth barrier.
