West Cork Walk for Palestine

I was up bright an early this morning to join the West Cork Walk 4 Gaza which started off in Bantry Square at 6.30am. The intention was to walk a distance corresponding to the length of Gaza - 43 kilometres - Bantry to Crookhaven was chosen. Around 200 people took part and I joined them in Durrus where the first pit stop was taking place, some people having already walked for 2 hours. I decided to walk to Dunbeacon, around 8km - and a shiver still goes up my spine looking at the photos.  Just people like you and me - a couple of dogs, a baby in a pushchair, some young ones, and a warm and generous vibe. I fell in a woman whose name I've forgotten but we had a good chat for the hour and a half I participated.  Cars and lorries hooted in a friendly way as they passed us and at some points en route other people came out from their homes to cheer us on, this woman festooned with flags and warm smiles.
5.30 as I write this, and they should be almost arriving in Crookhaven - fair play to everyone who took part. It won't make any difference unless, as Himself suggested,  somehow the collective good will and kindness permeates through - the butterfly effect. What else can you do really.
