A deep pink Hollyhock.
The Feast Day of Saint Teresa Benedicta of the Cross. Birth name Edith Stein.
Born 1891, Wroclaw, Poland. Died 1942, Auschwitz, Poland.
Patron Saint of Martyrs, orphans, Europe.
Status : Nun, martyr.
This Saint was academically gifted, at age 13 an atheist, but read the Life of St Teresa of Avila and was called to convert to Catholicism. She decided to become a Discalced Carmelite, the Order founded by St Teresa of Avila.
Her colleague, Professor Jan Nota, described St Teresa Benedicta as " a witness to God's presence in a world where God is absent."
Here in Rishton, it has been and still is windy. 22c in the living room, 75f in the conservatory. It feels close.
It is not easy to photograph flowers swaying in the breeze.
It takes me alot of patience and determination.
I set my heart on this photo of the newly opened deep pink Hollyhock. It has superb colour.
Regarding my Blood Pressure, it is something I need to be careful of and it is a serious aspect of my reality. Enough said. There is an abundance of information about caring for Blood Pressure and while it is one of those silent aspects of our health it is best to respect it and monitor it if need be. I have a wrist Blood pressure monitor but we have sent off for an upper arm cuff model, from Amazon, so I can record my Blood pressure twice a day, before I return to the practice nurse, who was very kind and supportive of my condition.
I hope you all enjoy your Saturday and that the weather is kind where you are.
Take care blip friends.
