Postcards From The Beach..
Another hot and very hazy day..("hazy" being a less scary word for "smokey" ) so not perfect for taking photos, but I tried.
There were a few folks not giving in to the heat and trying to do their best with the day ..sitting on a bench in the shade enjoying the view over the water, lunching in the shade beside the chip truck, having a drink in the outdoor cafe in the shade of an umbrella or playing the piano in the gazebo! (extra) There was one lone person strolling along the promenade.. and not a one lounging in the sun on the beach or out on the wharf. Just too hot.
What amazed me on this very hot and not windy day were the overly optimistic sailors coming and going in and out of the harbour. Not a lot of shade on a sailboat! Along with the comings and goings, there were also a few ups and downs worthy of a blip (extra)
For me, I was out and about a lot today - in the shade wherever possible. I spent some time watering my scorched hydrangeas, visiting with Diane and sipping mimosas in her covered patio, and going to the library of course...(There is always a book to return or pick up, rain or shine.)
My friend in hospital is still not having visitors, so I took flowers to her husband to deliver to her tomorrow; they live down at the lake, so being in the neighbourhood, was how I ended up at the harbour trying to take photos! Usually in heat like this, a jaunt to the lake in search of blips would not have been in my game plan! (Also it was cleaner day and best to be out of the house! )
Tomorrow is weeding day again and the temps are to be up in the 30's. Geez, how do these guys actually work in this heat and humidity?
