Bird by the Murray river

This is my adaptation of a photo sent to me by Raestelle which I had seen on her blip a while ago - I decided not to put the yellow reeds in the foreground which were in the photo, but I will probably use those in another painting. I wanted to keep a certain atmosphere with this one - sort of moody and blue... Hope you like it, though I may still do a bit more work on it!

I have been busy doing a lot of typing today and there's still more to do but not as urgent! Hubby and I finished putting posters/news back up on the church notice-boards too following their removal for the holiday club. He is so neat and tidy in the way he puts things back up - it took ages! I was just handing the drawing pins to him (in my able assistant role).

It's been very rainy here today - we started off with a thunderstorm at 9am which rumbled around for half the morning. No more thunder this afternoon, but very heavy rain at times. There was a downpour while we were just finishing at church, but it eased enough that we didn't get soaked walking home!
