Church steps
Had a poor nights sleep due to my leg being sore. Took a codeine tablet in the end ( I prefer not to take them but I was desperate ) and I did manage to sleep after that.
Got up late and the first thing I did was to check whether " the parcel " had arrived. Of course it hadn't. So for the 4th time I phoned Royal Mail. On hold for 20 mins this time. Spoke to another different person. She checked the records and was able to fill in a few blanks. She said the parcel was definitely posted in the UK as the fee of £7 is the UK rate when the incorrect postage is paid by the sender. She confirmed that my £7 fee had been paid.... however just before it had been paid the local sorting office had sent the parcel back to the sender. So I have no idea why I had been given various delivery dates over the last couple of weeks when there was no chance of the parcel being delivered because the sorting office didn't even have it. Anyway......... they are going to refund the £7. And I will probably never find out who sent the parcel and what was in it......... unless the sender posts it again with the correct postage on. The lady at Royal Mail suggested the parcel may still be in the system and may not have made its way back to the sender yet so there's still a chance that the sender may contact me --- or post the parcel again with the correct postage on. I don't think I will be too surprised if neither of those scenarios happen. I think it will remain a mystery.
A few other parcels did arrive this morning so after sorting them out I got a bus to the village and went to the Convenience Store.... to collect another parcel. Then I walked to Herons and Tesco. Two parcels collected inTesco. Then to the chemist. I needed to collect some of my repeat prescriptions.... they were ready - and a new supply of Gabapentin which was prescribed by the doctor this morning after I had phoned the Health Centre to request them. This wasn't ready and I had to wait 15 mins for it. Didn't mind really as there are some seats you can sit on to wait so I just relaxed for a while.
Next I walked along to St Marys Church to get my blip shot. The Wide Wednesday theme is " Steps". Thanks to BobsBlips for hosting.
Then I walked home. Shopping trolley was heavy and its uphill all the way so I was glad to get home and slump in the armchair with a cup of coffee.
Weather today was warm and dry. And no wind at all. A very pleasant day.
