Dereliction
Candas the town is pretty derelict, but it does have some buildings/facades that were no doubt beautiful, and could be again.
An early walk to beat the heat served us well. Rua and I needed the fan in the afternoon for a nap.
Our afternoon walk brought us to Perlora Holiday City, or rather the former holiday city. Built in the '50s by the Government for workers' holidays the place now lies derelict. A huge are with 100 houses, public BBQ areas, tennis courts and a church the place has been empty for over 10 year. It is an awful shame. Thankfully some of the outdoor public areas are still used. The extras show a few photos, including extensive ugly concrete railings around the cliffs/beaches.
We went out for dinner, scallops and squid for me, accompanied by the local Cider, the place was buzzing. Rua is getting used to the life of a Spanish dog, hanging around under tables and chairs, sleeping, people watching and the general Spanish buzz.
