Figs

We're back home now. Rémy hadn't burnt the house down or anything, but then again he hadn't done much either.
Anyway early yesterday morning he left for Brantôme with 3 of his friends. Mme MB drove them into Paris to get the TGV. Despite nagging him to book his tickets early, to get a cheaper price. He has had stop in Poitiers to change trains (normally direct - but too expensive due to being late booking). Then in Angoulême they had to wait 5 hours before getting the bus down to Brantôme.
Finally they arrived yesterday evening and this morning they need to go shopping on foot.

Meanwhile we arrived home to find a few ripened figs on our tree. The birds had already started to get at some others, while quite a lot aren't ripe enough yet.
These will be destined for jam.

Thoughts need to go towards working at house number 2. Before we went away, me and Rémy had measured the bedrooms, removed the paper from the corridor and all the hooks from the walls around the house. Also got rid of a small clothes rack that was screwed into a nook behind the door into the corridor.

So Mme MB is looking at wallpaper and trying to work out how much we'll need. We also have to get some wall treatment for some long gone mould traces. We think that there was a leak at some point in the bathroom, which has stained part of the wall in the corridor and the office wall the other side of the bathroom.
So the next jobs are to wallpaper all 3 rooms - the office floor will probably need to be painted as it is stained quite badly. Also need to paint the small corridor, between the kitchen and "garage" (now a room with windows), where the washing machine is.
