Slavery and The Beatles
….created Liverpool as it is today.
I’ve been on a day out with the local WI to Liverpool . It was a great day, really cold and windy at first, then it warmed up a bit. After we were dropped off Judy and I made our own way around.
First we went on the Mersey Ferry over to Birkenhead , a really good commentary gave an interesting history of the place. Main photo, the skyline of the docks from mid Mersey.
Back on dry land we took a tourist bus to the Metropolitan RC Cathedral, first extra which I liked in mono.
The next extra was an attempt to photograph the ventilation shaft of the Mersey Tunnel, but as mentioned it was very windy!
We walked to the Cavern club in Matthew street. The Beatles memorabilia is everywhere! The collage also shows the Liver building.
