Tongland Hydro Power Station

Today's the day ....................... for a new look

It has taken much longer than they said it would and it's probably cost much more than the budget - but the work on the Tongland Hydro-electric Power Station  has finished and the scaffolding has been removed.

It has been undergoing a complete facelift to correct some internal corrosion in the concrete facing - and so that this could happen, it has been all wrapped up in plastic.  There has been an army of men in boiler suits and masks, working away under the plastic, on what I imagine must have been a horrible job to have to do.  And they came up against a few unexpected problems along the way, which is why it has taken so long.
  
This is what it looked like back in 2021, before the work started.  So, as you can see, it is looking very clean and shiny ....................
