Where's ya bean?
A bit breezy on and off, but nothing to worry about. I went outside this morning to attempt to cut more of the ivy and honeysuckle off the damaged fence, but twice the rain suddenly began and sent me indoors. I didn't get on very well anyway as the space between the leaning fence and the greenhouse is very small and my sore shoulders were making life hard. Eventually I gave up and came indoors to look through the list of suggested fencers that I'd asked for on Facebook. A lot of them so it's difficult to decide when you don't know them, but in the end I picked a Romanian man who seems to be more of a handyman, but that would probably suit me better as I'll need to him to cut down all the ivy, which is very old and quite thick.
He came very quickly - obviously out of work! - and we came to an arrangement.
When he'd left I spent an hour or two on a chair going through all the runner beans, cutting off the damage and retying the stems which had been ripped off the canes. They look pretty ragged, but I'm sure they'll recover! Quite a few beans coming on!
