The second half of life..

Zealandia montage

Met Jeff at 9am as planned - the drive there was interesting to say the least.  I know Wellington is a very hilly city so trying to navigate and manoeuvre Gerty van around the narrow and sometimes steep hills at the time many were heading for work had its moments.  No harm done but nerves were a tad frayed.

Zealandia didn't produce a great deal of birdy action (unlike this time Jeff and I visited!) but it was lovely just to be in the native bush with the sound of the birds all around.  Pic is today's selection of sightings.......nothing great except the variety.

Left Zealandia and headed straight for the motorway north.  Drove Transmission Gully for the first time - impressive! Great driving, quick and very light traffic made it an absolute pleasure.  A short rest stop in Sanson before deciding that actually......I was done for the day! Staying at Marton NZMCA site tonight.
