IT'S MOTORHEAD SUNDAY
It's true....Sunday seems to roll around faster every week. AND...it's my birthday. I've worked every birthday for the past 25 years...isn't it nice that they hold a race on my birthday every year...just for me?

Big Sunday race...IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship. It's a 2 hour 40 minute race with scheduled pitstops. This shot features the GT Daytona Class and it's represented by a Ferrari 296 GT3 running on E-10 fuel. It just finished a pitstop and the driver is warming up a new set of tires tyres before rejoining the pack on track. This was shot from the rooftop of the Finish Line Tower at Road America.

EXTRA: Two friends of mine...corner workers. Without them keeping an eye on the track and the cars and calling in incidents many more bad things might happen in road racing. They are the heart and soul of track safety. Bert, the shorter fella, is likely the best there is at what he does. He can quote you chapter and verse of every incident he ever managed...right down to car numbers, car colors, who-did-what-to-whom and whether of not safety crews, tows or medical help is needed. He's actually been compared to video recordings of an incident and he's never wrong. Memory like a steel trap....he's better than a video recording.

BEST IN LARGE.
