Tricked Out Bug

We saw this delightfully updated Volkswagen Bug whilst on our walk this morning. There was a time when everyone i Berkeley seemed to be driving a Volvo (safe family car) or a VW Bug (cheap student wheels). They were everywhere, even after the new, updated ones, the ones with the built in flower vase, came out. This one is the real deal and very tastefully appointed, it is. I would have loved to see who got into it.

It's a good thing we got the walk in reasonably early because the temperature has risen steadily all day, topping out at around 90F (32C). Too hot even to sit on the porch doing nothing. It stays pretty cool in the house and I fiddled around with the digital picture frame given to John for his birthday, loading pictures onto it from 25,000 in my library.

I'm now making 6 inch blocks for the current quilt and managed two and a half this afternoon. I also decided to cancel our appointment with Kathy tomorrow. With vacations and such we haven't seen her for over a month, but John has a MOHS procedure at the dermatologist tomorrow at 8:30am. I considered going by myself to see Kathy, but given the uncertainty over how long it will take, I didn't have the energy to try to deal with it all. We will be seeing Kathy and her husband Mike for dinner on Tuesday so we'll have a chance to catch up socially....

We had a nice visit from Tim and Walter yesterday. He cooked some delicious ribs and even figured out where to put the wood chips tur turn our barbecue into a smoker. It was too hot to go for a walk by the time he got here so we just sat and watched the dogs figuring out how to play with each other. We're easily entertained....
