Surprise!
The State Fair opened Friday and a friend who was there told me I’d won 2 ribbons for my Harris Hawk photo so today Hubs and I went to check it out. Much to my surprise and delight, in addition to winning first in the Master’s Class for Wildlife, I also took top honors as Best in Master’s Class. Never expected that! Very chuffed to see that big blue roseate ribbon on my image. I took this photo when I was in Texas this past February with Suzanne and Wendy. In fact, I blipped this image - see HERE.
Had a good FT visit with my parents this morning. They were getting ready to leave for a few hours while the realtor hosts an open house. And someone who’d come to see the condo this week is coming for a second look this evening. It would be great if they were to get an offer this quickly!
Yesterday I was contacted by one of the dog owners from last weekend who wanted to know how she could buy some 8x10 prints of her dog so I quickly set up the Shop feature in Pixieset. Within an hour, she’d placed an order - I’m so pleased. An added bonus that her dog Fanny (a Pembroke Welsh Corgi) is utterly adorable.
I think that two of my nest boxes are fledging today - one with the second brood of Bluebirds and one with a fourth brood of House Wrens. Still one more brood of wrens in the box by the front walkway that just hatched a few days ago. The nesting season is winding down.
Tomorrow morning we have to drop Jax off for his oral surgery. We are both dreading it but the growth on his gum needs to be removed which will also require one tooth to be removed. My poor boy.
Xoxo
