Hardened Antlers

Just a quick update on one of the local stags, noting that the antlers have now hardened and darkened and have a much rougher exterior. He was less keen to be photographed, heading into the copse.

More worryingly, I only saw one stag today and combined with the change in behaviour, I do wonder if something has happened to the other one. I did attempt to see where he'd gone and whether the other stag was nearby, but didn't see either. I did see a hind with a young calf, but even she moved away quickly, roaring as she went.
