Oscar's PYO Flower Field

Oscar's patch opened on 1st July but this was the first opportunity I've had to visit. It's been re-organised from last year and I was afraid I would not be mobile enough to get around but no fear, the flowers are in two fields right by the entrance to Elms Farm.

I stopped in the shop to buy some cheese, paté and meat then went to the café right next door to have a reviving latte. Meanwhile, Megan cooked Basil a sausage which he relished. Oscar came by and we chatted about flower farms I had visited this year. I fear the tulip farm would be an enterprise too big for him.

He said I could drive right up to the rope in the flower field. I went further and drove up the main drive to this seat. Just behind this seat are the squashed weeds where I fell backwards after losing my balance. Dawn and Grace, mother and daughter, rushed to help and pulled me up. I am SO grateful to them. My camera had swung back as I fell over and I have a lovely bruise on my forehead to show for it. Extra.

There were still lots of pastel coloured cornflowers to pick and I gathered a posy. I didn't have time to sit on the bench. None the less, the tranquillity of the place was a boon.
