Plymouth Sound

Jennycliff is a great place to enjoy the panoramic views of Plymouth Sound, one of the finest, natuiral, deep-water harbours in the world. J.M.W. Turner came here and painted the view on his visit to Plymouth. To the left is Mount Edgecombe (Cornwall). Drakes Island is centre left. To the right of Drake's island is the River Tamar and Devonport..To the right of this scene, but just out of sight there were some small. training dinghies with red and yellow sails. These tiny boats with their  blood and custard-coloured sails were going to be today's blip but I could not get a decent photo using the digital zoom on my phone camera.
