Stepping gently
Ok, not very Silly for Saturday, but I was taken by this paper wasp stepping so carefully over the florets of the bupleurum fruticosum, or Shrubby Hare's Ear as it seems to be called.
Tiny dainty steps, and the foreleg gingerly moves towards the next. Why it didn't simply fly... well, how silly.
I'm hoping Janet can get some of this plant to grow at home, because the insects absolutely love it!
In the extra, a solitary locust has no fear of what it has no experience of - in this case the black void of a macro lens...
