We have high cloud to
mute the colours of this day.
Smoke adds to the haze.

It was a slow start for me. I headed off for Tranquille at 7:30. We've had some rain overnight that came with the thunderstorms that were promised. Lightning strikes account for most of the forest fires in our province. The number of active wildfires has doubled already this weekend with more than 130 wildfires burning in the province now. We have been fortunate in our area so far this summer.
I got my panorama of the wetlands pond and Tranquille Farm. I was surprised to see how green the pond is. A closer look made me think it must be algae. Some algae blooms have proved to be toxic to family pets.
I drove to the end of the road to see the osprey. I spotted one adult atop a power pole calling to those on the nest. I watched the nest closely. It appears to have two young ones who were very busy preening and stretching their wings. I wondered if they've had a go at flight.
I started for home, then met my friend, M, out on her morning walk. We chatted by my car for a few minutes until the mosquitoes became a nuisance. I got a panorama including my mountains to the east, then made for home.
I'm home for the day with the cranky feet up. I hope my daughter is cooking dinner tonight.
